Collaborative Authoring Tools (CATs)
project is assigned to test, assess, compare and present open source
online Web publishing systems and tools that can be used for
co-authoring. More CATs presentations can be found at: http://www.inquiry.uiuc.edu/cil/cats.cil
In iLabs 3 the most noteworthy features are:
- possibility to define different roles for members and multible administrators.
- possibility to change the places of the 'bricks' (tool boxes).
- well-designed WYSIWYG-editor for text bricks add by admin users.
- possibility to use own CSS styles.
All these advances makes it much more easy to personalize your iLab.
But
what is there for collaborative authoring?
The core feature in
iLabs3 is, that it is possible to define different permissions to different
groups of registered iLab members. So if one want e.g. access to add
photos to my Photo Gallery, it is possible if the person has logged in
as iLab member and I have given her/him the right to write to my iLab. Want to test? Then log in as iLab member and send me a request.
Please
notice that this
assessment will change along with the updates done to iLabs3.
