Registration Closed as of Tuesday, April 25, 8:00 AM
Date: Wednesday, April 26, 2006
Time: 3:00-6:00
Location: Room 69, English Building
Description: For an audience of EOTU students from UIUC, as well as other interested faculty members and students, current EOTU students will present their inquiry questions and findings. Light refreshments will be served.
We Invite You (Yes, You) To Present!
WHY: Participation in student conferences like this gives you the opportunity to practice speaking and presentation skills you’re likely to value now and in the future. It also builds your resume. More than that, the opportunity to talk and listen in this informal setting gives you an opportunity to learn what students in other classes are doing and thinking: the swapping and discussion of ideas and methods can help you firm up your ideas, identify new approaches to your topic, and enjoy having your ideas taken seriously by others.
DETAILS: We ask participants to speak for 5 minutes (no longer than that!) on their topics. The heart of your presentation should address your primary questions, the methods you’re using to answer these questions, and your findings so far. To the extent that it’s possible, we will try to group students with similar lines of inquiry in the same time blocks.
To Register: Use the List tool below. Open the "Add New Item" link, and then fill in the info for each of the columns. In addition, you can upload a brief document file describing your project to the document center (but this upload is optional). That's all there is to it: We will send you an email confirming your registration within 48 hours. If you have trouble using the List tool, email the required information to Gardner at jgrogers@uiuc.edu
Deadline for Registration: Monday, April 24
