Community Informatics Initiative 
The Community Informatics Initiative (CII) http://www.cii.uiuc.edu/ works with people to develop information and communication technologies to achieve their goals. It fosters collaborations across campus, local, national and international communities. Together, we build innovative community networks, community technology centers, software, and library services.
 
Journal of Community Informatics 
The Journal of Community Informatics was founded with the generous support of the Canadian Research Alliance for Community and Innovation Networking (CRACIN). The Journal is published with the support of the Community Informatics Research Network (CIRN) and the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Full text of Journal of Community Informatics issues is available online.  
Prairienet Community Network 
Prairienet, one of the earliest and most successful community networks in the world, was founded in 1993 as a Free-Net. A member- and donation-supported community information network for Champaign-Urbana and the surrounding East-Central Illinois region, Prairienet is operated by the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
